Phonak’s mission is to help create hearing solutions that change people’s lives to help them thrive socially and emotionally. In accordance with this mission, success for Phonak is measured by the positive impact that its technology has on improving people’s lives. As a global provider of hearing solutions Phonak has over 100 international subsidiaries and distributors. They interact with over 20,000 hearing experts and hearing aid users in research projects every year.
Phonak started all the way back in 1947 in Zurich by a group of investors, but it used to be called “AG für Elektroakustik” back then. In 1978 Phonak lead the hearing industry by launching a hearing solution with the highest amplification on the market and pushed the limits one step further they introduced pediatric adjustments. They did not take on the name Phonak until 1985 and within 10 years they pioneered AudioZoom which was one of the first of micro-microphone technology. Phonak has continued to innovate and create new technology to better help those with hearing loss.
Roger™: This technology is an industry-first from Phonak which enables Roger microphones to stream directly to hearing aids. This can help the hearing aid wearer understand speech in loud environments. It not only directly streams the speaker’s voice but it also reduces background noise.
Binaural VoiceStream Technology™: This feature allows for hearing aid wearers to focus on one voice in busy or noisy environments. It also can stream, in real-time and bi-directionally, the full audio bandwidth.
AutoSense OS: Helps hearing aids to automatically adjust to the wearer’s environment. AutoSense OS accurately captures and analyzes the sound environment, then precisely blends feature elements from multiple programs in real time to provide a seamless listening experience.
